Misery 1
For starters, I am very glad I chose this novel. It kept me interested the entire time. As a matter of fact, it kept me so interested that I have already finished reading it. In the first section, the main characters, Paul Sheldon and Annie Wilkes, are introduced to the story. Paul, a well-known writer, was taken from his crashed car by Annie, a psychotic former nurse. As it turns out, Annie is the “number one fan” to Paul’s novel series, Misery. As the “number one fan”, Annie is extremely upset that Paul has chosen to kill off Misery in the final book. She is not happy with this, so she wants Paul to write one more novel for the series called Misery’s Return. As far as I could tell there were not any social issues brought up at this point. The main focus of the novel so far is on Paul and Annie alone.

yes, a very interesting plot so far between Paul the writer and Annie the nurse.I wonder about why you think there wouldn't be any social issues in this part already. Ther very firt is she(Annie) doesn't take him to hospital ,instead take s him to her home after she realized who he is. the other is making him drinking from bucket of water use to clean the wall.
I really like where you're heading and I would like to keep hearing more as we get more into the book. Keep up the good work!
I have seen the movie and I am interested to see how the book compares. This is one of my all time favorites because it is so twisted. I think there is a social issue at hand here so far. Annie is nuts and has ovbiously lost her job and has been prosecuted for something because of it. She lives alone in the middle of no where and has no social interaction other going to town for small errands. I believe this just fuels her "nuttiness" so to speak!
