Misery #3

It begins with Paul venturing off through the house while Annie is away. He checks out every room but is on the clock, fearful that he will be caught by Annie, who physically hurts him for punishment. While he’s in the kitchen he hunts for food in her pantry he refers to as a “survivalist’s bomb shelter” trying to find food that she would realize was missing. He grabs sardines, raisins, and a single serving of cereal, hopefully small amounts she wouldn’t miss. Rollin back to his room, Paul finds a scrapbook that catches his eye, “Memory Lane.” While flipping through the book Paul finds many newspaper clippings that uncover even more of Annie’s dark side. Stories of people having accidents. Why would she have these saved in a scrapbook unless they were meaningful? The stories happened almost five years apart and in two different towns, reported by different newspapers. Paul knew Annie was crazy, but now he knows for a fact she’s a killer. Her father, her roommate, children, families, sick patients she was taking care of, people she didn’t even know… the newspaper clippings continued. It seemed as if she was killing people off to better herself in some sick manner. The next day when Annie returns she has noticed that Paul has escaped from the room multiple times. Livid, Annie punishes Paul by getting an axe and severing his left foot, right above the ankle, then taking a torch to it to stop the bleeding. Paul is getting closer to death as the days pass, unless he kills her first.

rose madder 3

rose baught a bus tickert to a city 800 miles away when she gets there she goes to address on the card that the man gave her at the travelers aide desk. She ends up at a battered womens shelther called Daughters and Sisters with Anna Stephenson (owner). Anna asked her what work skills she had; rose told her that all she knew was making beds, cooking, cleaning and laundry. anna set her up with a job at a hotel some time goes by rose starts thinking about her engagement ring and what it is worth. Norman told her it was either a new buick or the ring and he got the ring because he loved her. She is walking down the street one day in her new city and comes along a pawn shop. She goes in talks to the man about her ring he told her the diamond was fake it was worth about 200 but he could only give her 50. There is another man in the pawn show looking at books Rose is a little freaked out by him but really pays him no attention. As she is leaving she sees a painting ... ends up trading the ring for the painting. As she is standing outside the pawn shop the man looking at the books comes out and starts a conversation with her. He asked her to read a section of a book that he had got from the pawn shop. She read the part of the book and he ended up liking the way she reads and offered her a job . Rose goes back to the shelter shows all the new girls and the ones that have been there for a while her new painting everyone likes it. Anna calls her into her office and sits down and tells her that it is her turn finally and she had her new own place to go to. Nothing big just a small one room apartment she can call her own . while all of that was happening for Rose back home Norman is growing more and more angry that she is gone. He has been tracking her down and getting more information about where she had gone. He is also having relations with other women while she is gone and he strtangled one and put her body behind the old mill. Norman is also wondering why rose finally left if maybe she had sensed that he had murdered other people before ... taylor rodgers/ michelle worley

Under The Dome 3

1) New Characters: Joe Boxer and Sam Verdreaux

2)Barbie and Julia go out to the edge of the dome and watch Cox try to pour acid onto the Dome to try to make a hole for people to get out of. The Dome just eats up the acid, according to the scientists. Not long afterwords, a meteor shower starts. The meteor shower looks like pink stars falling because of pollution. Big Jim gets onto Carter and his friends about raping Sammy Bushey, and then afterwords plans the riot of the grocery store. The young inexperienced officers stationed there are ineffective at quieting the crowd, and Sam, on orders from Junior, throws a rock at Georgia. That incident officially starts the riot, with the mob breaking into the grocery store and fighting with each other in order to get some food. Barbie arrives at the scene, and with Rose's help, he manages to calm down the rioters until Chief Randall shows up and re-incites the riot. Brenda goes to confront Big Jim about the Meth lab and other stuff, and leaves the information with Andrea Ginnell beore leaving to confront Big Jim. Things didn't go as she planned, however, when he kills her. Joe and his two friends are going around the town with the geiger counter, trying to find the cause of the dome. They find it, and they head back to tell Rusty. Barbie gets arrested for the supposed murders of Dodee Sanders, Angie, Lester Cogburn, and Brenda Perkings. Then Big Jim sets fire to the Democrat. Afterwords, Andy tries to kill himself after he finds out that Dodee is dead. Big Jim sends some people to go get some generators for the town. Sammy Bushey leaves the hospital and goes around the town for a little bit and comes back and kills Georgia and Frank before killing herself.

Green Mile 3

Perhaps the most prominent issue touched on by Stephen King in "The Bad Death of Eduard Delacroix" is Percy's actions during his first execution; and for that matter why he was present at the execution in the first place. King outlines the fundamental corruption in Cold Mountain's prison system, which is that because Percy Wetmore is related to the Governor, he can do anything he wants (i.e. beating Delacroix badly with no consequence) Paul was told by the warden earlier in the story that Percy was to attend the execution of Eduard Delacroix (and later that he was to play a part in it). During electrocutions a sponge was soaked in brine (salt water) to conduct the electricity through a persons body smoothly. Percy Intentionally failed to wet the sponge during Delacroix's execution, which caused the electricity to pop and catch fire, melting the mask on Del's face and setting his hair and face ablaze. Although the mood on the mile changed afterward, Percy's connections would prevail, and he got away with it.

Carrie Discussion 3

New Characters: Billy Nolan's friends Henry Blake Steve Deighan Kenny Garson Lou Garson Jackie Talbot Summary: In this section, Carrie really starts using her telekinesis. She begins taking a more commanding role in her life, standing up to her mother and other people that are crossing her path. Carrie agrees to go to the prom with Tommy Ross. Billy Nolan and his friends go to Irwin Henty's farm to kill pigs, and fill two pails with pig guts. Carrie makes her prom dress and her mother freaks out. Carrie's mother tells her shes the devil, and is plotting to kill her. Tommy and Carrie go to the prom, and tie with another couple for king and queen. The buckets of pig guts were dumped on Carrie after being announced winner for king and queen. Also, there's just little side plots of Chris and her boyfriend Billy not getting along. Tommy starting to develop feelings for Carrie. New Social Issues: Not a big issue, but different social groups in highschool. Being a social outcast could lead to deviant acts against other social groups. For example, Billy wasn't popular in highschool and is very determined to carry out the acts against the king and queen. Also, rebellion against parents. Carrie rebels against her mother and her relgious beliefs. Carrie strives for social acceptance although her mother does everything to stop her.

3 dolores claiborne

Dolores tells the police about her plan to kill Joe. She tells them that she was going to send the kids to camp so she can be alone with Joe. During her planning she is also doing work for Vera Donovan for her eclipse party. The night of the eclipse Joe is very drunk and gets into a big fight with Dolores. She realizes that this is the perfect time to kill Joe. They start fighting and she backs him into a well and he falls in, but he didn’t die from the fall so she throws a rock at his head.

Part 3 of the green mile

The social issues covered in this section would definitley be the issues of police brutality and corruption within the prison unit. With Eduard Delacriox's horrible execution art this hands of percy wetmore, ( he did not wet the sponge) and the black mailing involved in getting percy to lead the execution. we think that king wants to show his readers that even though police guards are somewhat put on a petastoll in society they can still be corrupt. Also covered was the issues of racism once more with the reporter that covered john Coffey saying that negroes are much like rabid dogs. You cannot trust them. King has interesting ways of bringing these issues to light. There was one new character introduced in the old folks home where paul resides prestent day. His name was Brad dolan and he shared many qualities with percy.

Cell #3

The new Characters are called, The Headmaster, Jordan. Tom, Clay and Alice are still alive. They blew up a bunch of "zombies" and all of them started to have nightmares about the same person called "the raggedy man". In the dream, the Raggedy Man, want Tom, Clay, Alicia to head to Kashwak. Kashwak have no phone signals, therefore, Tom think it is a safe place to go. Every time they rest, they have dreams about a relatives trying to kill them.

The Misery blog 3

Paul is writing the novel of Misery returns. She is helping with adding the letter of ' N, withing thwe the writing and following along the reading. she tell Paul that she know he left the room and she is upset because he read her scrapbook of killing she had done in the past. she tell him that she has loose hair all over the house to let her know that something was move out place. she find out about the medication for pain between the matress. she realize it by how paul is recovering and getting stroger. so she goes and brings an ax and imputates his leg below the knee. Paul is in dispare with loosing his leg and his thumb from his hand. He wanting to more than ever to finsh writing the novel. Annie has more of a mental condition and getting worse as the days passess by. Curtis -Letty
