Essay 5
I really enjoyed the movie and all the different characters all for different reasons but I am writing essay 5 on character Paul Edgecomb. It was a hard decision between Paul and John Coffey because I view them both as heroic people, however I am mainly focusing on Paul. I like that he was far from judgmental and treated everyone the same. He was the "boss" and never talked down to anyone. This movie was a real eye-opener and i'm pretty excited to write about it.
Essay # 5
In the final essay I'm focusing on th main issues raised by the protagonist, and how those issues are resloved. There is enough information to write two to three pages and I think it's a great topic to write about. One of the best characters in the movie, Paul, has so many interesting conflicts that he has to be able to go out of his way in order to solve problems. The problems in the middle of the movie all relate to the end of the movie when Paul is older and has to suffer the consequences of letting bad things happen to god's work. I looked at all of the other topics but the first one seems to be the best and the easiest. Mr. Jingles would be fun to write about, but I don't really fell like writng so much on so little information.
Character Analysis on John Coffey
John Coffey, in my opinion is the most interesting and complex character in The Green Mile. Not only does Stephen King use Coffey as metaphor to resemble the fact that innocent people have been executed on death row, he also uses Coffey to illustrate the idiom that you cant judge a book by its cover. On the surface, John Coffey is an ignorant, illiterate, giant of a man who is accused of raping and killing two very young girls. This seems to make his character menacing and evil, however as King begins to develope Coffey's character throughout the bbok and movie the audience begins to see that John is a kind hearted man capable of amzing things, or as put by the character Paul Edgecombe, a gift from god.
A Character analysis for “Wild Bill” Wharton,
I found him to be offensive language and annoying spoiling brat. In him being disgusted toward others in the cell block. I’m really against capital punishment but this guy was cheated for his crime. He was the one needed to have been executed in the chair. It sad to see this man die like he did, even though, it was entertaining how the spitting of moon cakes on to the officer face and grouse into believing it was real fecal material. the apperance was a poor.

Green Mile showed different characters, many feelings in there, compassion, hate, sacrifice, punishment, healing, miracles from John Coffey. He acts like a healer for people that need help, he can see people with good hearts but for those that are abusers, and bulling, he do not deserve anything for them, only punish. They showed cruel people.

The character that I will write essay five about will be Paul. I chose this character because he is the protagonist and he fits my approach for this essay. My approach for this essay will be the third approach to consider the narration of The Green Mile and the underscoring meaning of the narration.
Essay 5 Character Analysis
I want to write my essay 5 about a character analysis over Paul Edgecomb. I know it may seem as though his would be the easiest to write about because he is the main character in the movie, but that's not the reason why I chose him. I chose him because the way his character molds throughout the movie is amazing. He is so closed off in the begining just being "the boss" and turns into a beleiver of the unknown, he learns to have faith, and he learns that you can't just judge someone withough proof; like the jail seemed to do John Coffey.

It's hard to decide which approach to take for this essay as I enjoy all the characters and enjoy seeing from all different aspects. I am leaning towards writing about John Coffey. I have a soft spot for him. I plan on writing about of course the main issues and then all of the social issues that arise. Being a big black, uneducated man in the 1930s accused of murdering and raping two young white girls certainly did not ensure fair or just treatment. Part of me wants to take on Paul though, I love the fact that he could see through all of the fog. We could definently use a few more Pauls in todays society!

I'm probably going to write about Paul Edgecombe, the protagonist of the story. Frankly, he is the easiest character to write about. In the movie, Paul is the head of the guards who are in charge of the Green Mile. Paul tries to comfort the inmates during their last days alive with civility and restraint. Paul is generally a level-headed character and one of the few people that set him off happens to be be Percy Whetmore. After John Coffey is on the Mile, Paul quite often breaks the rules, putting a lot of faith in John. I will probably be using some information from the novel to fill in the gaps the movie had made.
Essay 5: Character Evaluation
I'm going to talk about Paul Edgecomb. His character is very interesting in the movie. He is the main character. His character in the movie is a man that respects other men even if they are criminals, and he believes that if you did something bad you should have consequences. He befriends the prisoners, especially John Coffey. He really cared about him because he knew that he was innocent. That is who i'm talking about.

In this essay, I am writing a character analysis of John Coffey. The reason I choose John is because he is the most important character in the story. The story is not told by his point of view, but he is definitely one of most special character who give a great impression to the audience. He is the one who make this movie so special. His supernatural ability and angel- like image changed the way the guard look at the world. He is like a gift from God to the people around him. There are many "conflict" on him. He has a body stronger than every one but his thought, his heart is just like a child, very meek. He has such a great power yet he is so humble. He tried his best to help people but he was hate by them. These conflict make him not only a person who has great power but make him an miracle.

I am going to write about the character, Percey Wetmore. I want to analyze why he is like he is. Why he is so vengeful. I am going to try to find out why he is going through all that hassle to be a bully. Why is he staying even though no one wants him there. To me he is one of the more interesting charachters because he is the one that really sticks out compared to the other guards.

For this last essay I plan to write a character analyisis on Paul Edcombe. At first I wanted to do the paper on John Coffey however I changed my mind for there is much more to write about with Paul. Such as, two perspectives (young and old), first person views on events on the Green mile and of course his relationship with John Coffey. We also witness first hand horrid sights of violence, acts of racial discrimination and even miracles to name a few. I will type my essay based on these ideas.
