Dolores Claiborne

The book starts off with Dolores Claiborne being interviewed by a man named Andy. She is the primary suspect for the murder of her employer, Vera Donovan. I think its unique how the book is spoken entirely from Dolores' perspective. While there are other novels that do the same thing, the way King writes it is different. Dolores just answers the questions that you don't hear Andy ask. I thought it was a creative way of changing things a little. Anyways, in the story, Dolores goes on to say the three ways that Vera had of being a bitch and you find out that there is a certain sort of camraderie that they have even if it is warped. Thats all so far.

The Green Mile

The main events of the plot so far in the Green Mile is really still developing. The book is still in its introduction phase. Paul Edgecome is the main character and is head guard and fellow guards are Dean Stanton, Harry Terwilliger, Brutus Howell, and Percey Wetmore. Percey Wetmore is a pain in the butt who thinks he can do anything he wants because he has family in high places. John Coffey is the main inmate in the story accused of killing and raping twin girls. Also, introduced is Delacroix a Frenchman who is currently waiting the electric chair. The story of how John Coffey an abnormally large African American man is found with two white little girls dead in his hands. He is charged and convicted of killing and raping these two little girls. The main social issue noticed right away is the racism that is still current in the story. They story is being told happened in 30's and black people are still regarded as below white people. I look forward to see where the story goes.
