The new Characters are called, The Headmaster, Jordan. Tom, Clay and Alice are still alive. They blew up a bunch of "zombies" and all of them started to have nightmares about the same person called "the raggedy man". In the dream, the Raggedy Man, want Tom, Clay, Alicia to head to Kashwak. Kashwak have no phone signals, therefore, Tom think it is a safe place to go. Every time they rest, they have dreams about a relatives trying to kill them.

This was my favorite part of the book. I love how he took a common zombie story and elevated it to something better. I hated having Alice killed off, I really liked her. I couldn't imagine the frustration at being mind controlled, when they described having someone in their brain nudging them it creeped me out. The scene describing Gunner and Harold dying was so gory too.
