Main Characters: Dolores Claiborne,Joe St. George, Vera Donovan, Andy Bissett
Main Events: Dolores Claiborne is being interview by detective Andy Bissett on the death of Vera Donovan who was Dolores' Employer. There was talk around town that Dolores killed her husband Joe St. George because he was an alcoholic and used to hit her. Dolores admits to killing Joe but not for those reasons. Dolores was a live in house keeper for Vera "Missus" Donovan after Vera's husband dies and she fires her previous staff. Dolores explains how mean and anal Vera was about her home and how she was a "bitch" to everyone she employed and she was hard to work for. Dolores then explains how she then became more than just a house keeper for Vera after she had a few strokes and couldn't do for herself. Dolores explains how Vera would defecate on herself and play with it just so Dolores would have to clean it up, sort of a way of showing Dolores she still controlled everything even though she could hardly move.

I used to work in a nursing home where I had to clean up after the male version of Vera Donovan. It was awful. Dolores is a much stronger person than I. He broke me down after only 7 months.
I could feel every emotion Delores was describing here. I used to take care of my Grandmother (God Bless her Soul) who was very similar to Vera in her actions. Something just happens to people when they are in these circumstances, I think. The mind reverts back to that of a child but, a little more spiteful. So far I am really enjoying this novel. Everytime I pick it up I don't want to put it down!
I think that Dolores, liked to be abused from other people; from her husband, Mrs Vera, and she kept all her hate about it . She killed her husband to pay back all that misserable life that he gave to her, and beside that she hide about her husband issues, like he wanted rape his own daughter. Dolores had to reported this terrible psicho, drama to the police, and look for help!!!. I am enjoying to read this novel...
