Characters:
Clayton Riddell is the main character. He is a graphic artist in Boston. He doesn't have a cell phone, which save him from turning into a phone zombie. After the "Pulse" happened, he try to leave Boston and get to where his wife and son live and make sure they are save.
Sharon Riddell is Clay's wife. When the "Pulse" happen, she is not living in Boston.
Johnny Riddell is Clay's son. He is going to middle school and living with his mother.
Tom McCourt is Clay companion when they are escaping out of Boston. He saved by Clay once.
Alice Maxwell is a teenage girl saved by Clay outside of the Inn. She lose her mom in the "Pulse." She leave Boston with Clay and Tom.
Mr. Ricardi is a desk clerk, working in Atlantic Avenue Inn. He provide a safe place for Clay, Tom and Alice before they desires to lease Boston but he didn't go with them.
Plot Events:
We enter the story with the cell phones being a problem. One lady interrupted her order due to the ringing of the cell phone,so we understand that they start to become a problem. There is a message which has been send through every cell phone. Every one who received it become crazy and start killing each other. When Clay and Tom see all this happening, they decide to hide in Atlantic Avenue Inn, where they meet Mr. Ricardi and save Alice from killing by a phone crazy. Later on, they find out that it is not save to stay in the city. They pack up everything they need and leave Boston.

Also the cells phones give off a sort of "pulse" that at a certain time if you were on the phone it would turn you into a crazy person wanting to kill other people. The world around them as started to have explosions and the cities are burning up. Tom is very affraid that his son has used the cell phone to contact his mother and when he tries to call them all the phone lies are down. I feel that some of the social issues are that, when the world has to face an event where we have a black out or all means of communication go down, we won't be able to reach the ones we need to because it seems that mostely everyone around use the cell, computer ect. and we need to do more face to face interactions in case of times like that.
