Harter, J. Essay 3-Causal Analysis

As of right now I would like to do my paper on the rise in the number of cases of ecoli infection and the possible causes. There is some concern that the problems we are now facing are of our own doing. When I say we I mean farmers and cattle breeders. The question I will ask and try to find answers for in my paper is whether the cases of infection can be traced back to cattle ranching and changes in feeding practices. Have farmers, meat producers, packing plants, whoever by their need for "higher quality" and faster produced usable meat products caused what is now being blamed on produce farmers? Have we as a people advanced ourselves in to a problem that should no longer be a problem in a culture with the advancements we have?

That is a pretty bad deal that farmers are being blamed for the outbreaks if they're not the cause, but people need to know that it more likely to be big companies than your local mom and pops farmer.
