I'm reading this book and is keeping me bewildered to know what is going to be the outcome of Paul, and Annie. I haven't read further yet, but will anyone really realized Paul is missing at all. What about Annie's craziness reaction toward making him burn Fast Cars, a book, he spend two years to finish.
Spot on with the mental abuse! It's not immediately apparent that Annie is mentally abusive to Paul; the physical aspect tends to overshadow it. But she really is mentally abusing him. First she destroys a book that he spent two years writing, and then she tries to bend him to her will, making him write what she wants him to. Kudos on pointing that out!
This is the gist of the story so far. I was disappointed that he actually had to burn Fast Cars. What kept me reading was the aggravation to know if paul would be free and if Annie would be locked in a psych ward for eternity.
