My issue comes from the book "The Green Mile" by Stephen King. This book was about a man telling a story of his experience working in a penetentiary on death row. He retells the the events of how his life changed when a man named John Coffey walked the Mile. John Coffey was a black man who was accused, charged, and sentenced to death for the murder and rape of two white girls.
I feel as though regardless that Coffey was captured with the two dead girls in his arms, he still deserved a fair trial. He did not receive a fair trial basically because he was black. If there had been a white man holding those girls they would have taken every resource to prove that the white man was innocent. Racism is still an issue today. A lot of people dont feel it is an issue anymore because they dont see the burning crosses in the yards of black people and the lenchings like back in the day but, it still thrives.
I am totally against racism. It is not fair for people to be judged by skin color, religion, race, and etc.

good job!!! you and I have the same idea's! I feel racism is a big subject and it also goes for people like me too. sometimes i feel because i am white i am automatically assumed to be somewhat racist, but i feel like i have to work 3 times as hard to show I am not! good luck
Shae,
I just responded to your blog, it was a long response, and the dadgum "blog technicians" lost my shit!
Anyway, I'm just going to sum up what I had written.
I remember when I was 6 years old and living on the border of Watts and Hawthorne. (SW LA) It was 1965 and we were under Marshall Law with a no one in or out of the city before 6am and after 5pm. It was later refered to as the "Watts Riots".
I remember being a victim of racism inside of my own family because I have Indian blood.
I never fit into school because 1/2 my family was Mexican. My grandma married a Mexican man who had 2 sons and one daughter. I was either hated by the Mexican people in my school, or not accepted into the "white crowd" because I wasn't "pure".
So we all have had a bite in the ass when it comes to color.
I had more to say about your paper, but I have a lot of stuff to do before school starts tomorrow. I enjoyed your blog! Keep up the good work.
Gracie
