Essay 3

My topic choice is a very sensitive topic in the eyes of society. It seems to get overlooked or "pushed to the side" by the majority and it affects more people than most know or would ever hope to imagine. My topic is child abuse. Not just physical but mental and emotional as well. This childhood tragedy is outragoeously too common. I believe that if paernts and neighbors knew what to look for there would be a decrease in lives ruined and scarred. Children could be blissfully ignorant and hold on to their innocense for as long as they could.

essay 3: going green

thinking about this essay has really turned my brain, i have been thinking about all kinds of things i could write about like obesity in America, nuclear bombing, gun control, and other things. this essay topic has left it very open to what we can write about to just about anything we can think of. i think i am finally going to grab the topic about going green in the automobile industry. with all the new technology coming out we have cars that can use no gasoline, that would really help out our environment and stop people in the U.S. paying an arm and a leg to fill up there cars and trucks. in Texas we are known to have everything bigger, we have more trucks, and bigger trucks. we have all this solar power technology that is not getting used as much as it should be being used. i think i can write a good argument on the issue, who knows maybe it'll even open your eyes to thinking about going at least a little more green.

Wasteland

Pollution has a negative effect on the world today and even looks worse towards the future. So many people never take prevention seriously because they don't realize what's going to happen until it hits you. With todays technology prevention should be a number one priorty, or at least using non toxic or non hazardous material. BP just had the largest oil spill in U.S. history in 2010. There are even plans to make a hollywood production after the catastrauphic event, as if we want to remember. Japan just had an earthqauke that caused a tsunami large enough to damage a nuclear power plant and send radiation into the environment. In both instances people were worried about money rather than the stable environment for wich people live in. They were trying to cut corners in BP's exlposion to make things go faster, and for some reason in Japan they built a dangerous nuclear power plant on a fault line. I also like to go fishing and hunting outdoors. Pollution as far as in the water or in the air is going to kill everything in the ecosystem making it unsuitable for anything to live.

racism

Racism is the still a big problem in this day in age. Its not just in the U.S. that racism occurs its all over the world. It was a big thing back in the old day that racism was a way of life it was a sin to even be in a relationship with a colored person. Its still a big thing now which is ridiculous but if we all put forth effort we could resolve this huge social problem.

Essay 3- Legalizing Marijuana

I am writing Essay 3 about legalizing marijuana. It’s definitely not the biggest social issue out there today; however, it is an unnecessary focused topic. Since there are much more important things going on I do not understand why so much of the limelight is on penalty for marijuana users. Even if not legalizing it, I do think that less punishment should be considered. Over 68,000 people got arrested just last year and many lost jobs. Is it really that crucial? Marijuana is actually less dangerous than alcohol, cigarettes, and most over-the-counter medicines or prescriptions. Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest substances known to man. Marijuana is illegal in the United States when alcohol poisoning is a major cause of death and approximately 400,000 premature deaths are attributed to cigarettes a year. Being an alcoholic can result in inability to talk, walk, function, and even death. How often do you hear about someone overdosing on marijuana? There are no records of any deaths due to marijuana. Aspirin is completely legal but if you take 12 of them it will be your last headache. In places such as California, people are prescribed marijuana for health purposes, involving anxiety, high blood pressure, nausea suffered by cancer patients, and glaucoma. The government could also benefit from making billions of dollars a year from taxing marijuana, which would help with our country’s huge debt. These are only a few reasons why I believe it should be legalized, or at least less of a penalty.

Ideas for Essay 3

This topic for essay 3 is really complicated i havent figured out what i want to write about but if any suggestions or ideas will help iam ganna be thinking about ideas and hopefully i find what i want to write about.

Social Issues essay 3

For this essay I think the social issue I will choose is racism or racial tension. Whether it be about the color of peoples skin or how some people think that every Muslim is going to bomb you. This is a very real issue in our world today. It's a very controversial issue. I don't see why some people can live their lives and wake up everyday holding prejudice against a certain race.

Here is the definition of racism Racism is the belief that the genetic factors which constitute race, ethnicity, or nationality are a primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that ethnic differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

So in essay 3 I plan to get to the bottom of things such as what leads to it or what causes it. How it can be stopped, and ect.
